Things I Learned This Week
- A murder board (aka “scrub-down”), is a committee of questioners set up to critically review a proposal and/or help someone prepare for a difficult oral examination.
- Curly/Smart/Typographer’s Quotes have different opening and closing quote characters. ↔ Straight Quotes do not have opening or closing versions, just a single character used on both sides.
- A blacksmith is a skilled craftsman who shapes and forges metal, typically iron or steel, by heating it until it’s malleable and then hammering it on an anvil to create items such as horseshoes.
