Wisdom I Pondered This Week

  • “It is only with the heart that one can see rightly; what is essential is invisible to the eye.” — Antoine de Saint-Exupéry, The Little Prince
  • “Anything that moves you is art.” — Shia LaBeouf
  • “You are not a drop in the ocean, you are the entire ocean in a drop.” — Rumi
  • “Everything changes once we identify with being the witness.” — Ram Dass
  • “If you have a garden and a library, you have everything you need.” — Cicero

Things I Learned This Week

  • Lederhosen (皮褲) are traditional leather trousers from the Alpine regions of Germany, Austria, and Switzerland, originally designed as durable workwear for peasants and hunters. Made from tough tanned leather such as deer, goat, or cowhide, they come in knee-length (Kniebundhosen) or shorter styles and often feature decorative embroidery, suspenders, and a drop front (Hosenlatz). Today, Lederhosen are a key element of folk costume (Tracht) and are famously worn during Oktoberfest, paired with checkered shirts, wool socks, and Haferl shoes, while women wear the traditional Dirndl, symbolizing Bavarian heritage and blending craftsmanship.
